A 19th century Dutch marquetry inlaid bombé bureau profusely decorated all-over with marquetry depictions of flowers, urns and birds. With a rectangular flap opening to reveal a striking floral marquetry stepped fitted interior with a well, two small drawers support the flap and a further two short and two long drawers below provide plenty of useful storage. Ornate pierced brass handles and escutcheons decorated with birds and with a bombé front and sides and shaped apron, the whole piece stands on splayed feet.<\/p>\n

Good condition for age has had some restorations and the usual repairs to the legs and shrinkage lines to the veneers (a result of the curved surfaces).<\/p>\n
