This French Directoire traveling secretary is made of walnut. Its large size is unusual and would make an impressive statement in a study. The top section of the secretary is period, dating from the end of the 18th century, while the base was created sometime later in the early 19th century. The interior has some of the original drawers, one of which locks with a key, and the leather-faced cartonniers are recent. There are forged iron rings on each side for carrying the top, however, the ring on the right side is broken.<\/span><\/p>\n
