A rare find this 1930s Rietveld style shelving.<\/p>\n

The 8 lacquered solid wooden shelves slide over 4 tubular metal uprights and are mounted by a simple (Rietveld like) construction.<\/p>\n

When assembling this beautiful ‘De Stijl’ like shelving I discovered a Dutch 1 cent coin from 1941 that was used to fill up the base to level the shelving (see images 8 + 9)
\nThis emphasized the fact that this piece of furniture was made in the 1930s<\/p>\n

For sure this piece was made by a prominent designer but after intensive research I didn’t find any clue on who the designer or manufacturer could be<\/p>\n
