Bertoia&#8217;s wire chairs are now icons of the mid-century design. The chairs look airy and light and are still stable and comfortable. The art historian Brian Lutz commented on Bertoia&#8217;s work. We follow: &#8220;Bertoia&#8217;s paintings were better than sculptures. And his sculptures were Better than Furniture.
