Walnut Gueridon Side Table Directoire Period
A beautifully crafted walnut gueridon features a red, white and grey variegated marble set into a turned moulded frame.
The frieze below depicts a laurel leaf band and rope moulding.
The turned tapered legs have bulbous teardrop and reeded carving.
Below is a traditionally caned shelf.
The piece has good proportions and a pleasing mellow patina. The caning is intact and in good condition commensurate with its age.
There is evidence of some historic (long-gone) worm and the piece has been treated as a precaution.
