The base plate has a scalloped edge with minor chips. At the center of the bottom of the vase and of the plate we find an engraved 16-pointed star outlined in blue and white enamel. The top of the lid is hexagonal with floral gilt and blue decorations.
Of Mitteleuropean Austro-Hungarian origin, the provenance is a Bolognese private collection.
