We have admired this style of chairs for years, but it took 13 years in business to find this set. Custom made in the early 1960s by Indianapolis Chair Co in Aurora, Indiana for a Beverly Hills estate. He a famous surgeon and she a model and muse of a legendary fashion designer. They were the top of the line in high end furniture. The Directoire style was a classic for the the rich and famous and still looks amazingly chic and modern today. We searched many companies for the appropriately correct fabric for the seats. Done with piping exactly as per the original, we picked a French intricately woven geometric black threads on an off white ground. They look perfect on the chairs. We have cleaned the black gloss finish on the wood. They do not look 100% new but they look amazing in their original finish. The antique gold metal trim rosette on backs and diamond studs are amazing. A really special and rare set of chairs!
