*Fenton Art Glass was an American company that produced handmade art glass from 1905 to 2011. The company was founded by brothers Frank L. and John W. Fenton in Martins Ferry, Ohio, and moved to Williamstown, West Virginia, in 1907. Fenton is best known for its innovative glass colors and handpainted decorations on pressed and blown glassware. Fenton’s glass was popular with collectors for its beauty and craftsmanship. The company produced a wide variety of items, including vases, bowls, candlesticks, tableware, and figurines. Fenton’s glass was also used by artists and craftspeople to create a variety of decorative objects. The company ceased traditional glassmaking in 2011 due to economic pressures. However, Fenton’s legacy lives on in the many beautiful pieces of glass that it produced over the years. Fenton glass is still popular with collectors, and the company’s products are often displayed in museums and galleries around the world. In the 1970s, the Fenton Art Glass Company began to produce its own version of Burmese glass. Fenton’s Burmese glass is very similar to the original Mount Washington glass, but it is slightly more opaque and has a slightly different shade of pink.
