Mid-19th century French bouliotte lamp. Painted tole shade. Excellent scale and design, circa 1840-1860 in the Directoire style
The open work basket form base was used to retain the dice used for the game. Period Bouliotte lamps are scarce lighting pieces. This one never electrified with an ornate three candle cluster. Candle cluster and shade adjust as designed. This can be electrified or used as intended with candle light.

Condition:GoodWear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. Paint on the old tole shade refreshed. Has been on there for years as evidenced by the surface texture / crackle. A very original early candle light.
