Vintage Design
It has one large drawer at the front and a three shelve storage compartiment at the left. On the desktop a black leather inlay. The desk was manufactured by Fa. Tijsseling, Nijkerk and it still has its original metal plate at the back. The actual designer is unknown, but the design was clearly inspired by modernist and Haagse School architects of the time, like Gerrit Rietveld, Hendrik Wouda and P.E.L. Izeren.
This rare piece will be a tasteful addition to an eclectic interior where pieces from different era’s are combined. Also ideal to style the more limited space of a city apartment.
Some pictures with a large lamp and book were added to get a better idea of the size and scale.
The desk is in very good condition with only small signs of wear. The lock and drawer are fully functional.
