Incredible!
1940 Hand-Carved, Painted & Crafted
After Composition With Red Yellow and Blue
Amazing Art Design!
4 Different Compositions from each viewing angle!
Fresh from an incredible estate near Taliesin West, comes this Marvelous Architectural Art Lamp Featuring A Composition with Red, Yellow and Blue after Piet Mondrian!
Designed clearly as a tribute to Neoplasticism of Mondrian and the Dutch De Stijl movement. this work of art transforms a lamp into four unique and different compositions with Red, Yellow and Blue. Its sheer genius in both design and execution.
Mondrian, created a series of rhombus shaped canvases in 1925 and 1926. In 1927 Mondrian returned to the square, producing a group of paintings, centered around the idea of the dominant white or grey shape, with smaller squares and rectangles in primary colors placed along the edges of the composition. Mondrian’s paintings of this period are among the most iconic for their purism.
This lamp follows the same Neoplastic principles and uses the square with a dominant white shape with primary colors along the edges of the composition.
Lamp is in fine vintage condition. Original socket and wiring. New harp and black linen shade. Age appropriate wear to wood and enamel including chips and light fading. Likely vintage enamel restoration work. Significant tarnish to brass socket and metal trim.
Displays absolutely superb!
This is a one of a kind vintage art treasure. An architectural lamp that does quadruple duty as four different Neoplastic, De Stijl compositions after Piet Mondrian!
From every angle a visual delight!
A Magnificent work of “Illuminating Art” for your NY penthouse, Palm Springs atomic Ranch or West Palm Beach estate!
