Vintage Design
El Lissitzky’s D62 armchair is an emblematic piece of modern design. El Lissitzky, whose real name is Lazar Markovich Lissitzky, was an artist, architect and Russian designer, a key figure in the constructivist movement. Active in the 1920s and 1930s, Lissitzky was a daring innovator.
His model armchair presseda d62 embodies this vision, with its geometric aesthetic. He was drawn for the Soviet pavilion of the Exhibition Pressa in Cologne in 1928.
The comfortable structure in a semicircle offers a curved aluminum file treated mirror, and the seat is garnished with padded cushion covered with red, navy and gray leather.
