Hand-crafted black clay mezcal jar from San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca., 1950´s. The necks on these jugs were designed so they could be carried with ropes tied around the rim, making it more accessible to travel by way of mules.

Condition:FairWear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. The jug was cleaned and a bit of wax applied to bring back some of the brown to black luster. The overall color of the pot is a deep brown.
