Antique English oak joint stool, England, circa 1880’s.
Lovely oak stool with pegged mortise-and-tenon joints and splayed legs. It features solid columnar turnings resembling the original design of household stools from the 17th century. The rectangular seat has a comfortable, softly rounded edge with a simple apron. It is sturdy with beautiful wood grain rich in color with nice patina.
A great multi-purpose piece to have in any room for fluid seating options or hearthside. Pull it up to a sofa as a footstool or convenient small side table to keep drinks, a book or laptop at hand.
