19th century, French center cabinet with marble top
This central cabinet was made in France, during the Directoire period, between the late eighteenth and the beginning of the nineteenth century. The wooden structure is veneered in cherry wood, with a characteristic warm and pleasant color ranging from pinkish brown to reddish, with some darker wooden elements, which create contrast and compositional liveliness.
The white marble top is surrounded on three sides by a slightly raised wooden frame, useful not to slip any objects placed on the top. On the front there are three drawers with knobs and mouthpiece of the lock in gilded bronze and chiseled with foliated patterns.
The four legs, with an inverted pyramid trunk, end with golden bronze ferrules resting on small wheels.
The cabinet is finished on all four sides; this content to be able to expose it even in the center of a room, positioned between two sofas or armchairs, or next to walls or used as a bedside table. The light colouring and the elegant line give versatility and ease of insertion in any furnishing context, combined with antique or modern furniture.
