Add a touch of the French lifestyle to your home with this elegant and large “Table de Vigneron” (wine tasting table). Crafted in France, circa 1890, and built of beautiful pine and walnut, the antique wine tasting table features an oval pine tilt-top surface over a walnut wedge trestle base and rotating lyre shape stretcher; for out of the way storage, fold the top in a vertical configuration. The table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. This Classic find would make a sophisticated, historically relevant addition to a wine cellar, or could be used as a small breakfast table in a kitchenette.
Popular in the wine growing regions of France, this kind of table was used each year in all the wineries as connoisseurs tasted the new vintage. In traditional form, these wine tasting tables were covered with a plastic table cloths, and then cheese and wine were served.

Swedish black tilt-top table made during the mid 19th century, around 1860. The table is painted with black paint that has become distressed and the wood underneath shines trough in places. The distress also gives more character and dimension to the table along with the warm patina of the pine.

Well-crafted with mortise and tenon joints and pegged construction. Top has a rustic worn surface with a worn patch and was once covered with oil cloth.
