Antique French Directoire Neoclassical Mahogany Leather Top Desk is a marvel of timeless architecture, tailored styling and quality materials. Crafted from exotic imported mahogany, the rich oxblood red tones of the wood exude richness. Brass quarter round trim is used to great effect to encircle the entire writing surface which is fitted with tooled leather for an even more luxurious texture and visual appeal. The brass defines three drawers on the “business” side of the desk, and three otherwise identical faux drawers on the “guest” side of the desk that appear to be drawers but in fact are decorative only. Combined with the brass quarter round trim on each side panel, the look is appealing from any angle making this an excellent choice even for the center of the room. An added bonus ~ on each side you’ll see a brass knob which allows one to pull out two leather topped extensions for additional surface when you need it, yet each tucks back in to return the desk to its original relatively diminutive footprint. Four solid mahogany tapered legs provide support on each corner, accentuated with embossed brass collars and brass foot tips. Drawers are accessed with rectangular brass bale pulls for a clean, no-nonsense look that never goes out of style!
